San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans missed Thursday’s practice with a rib injury, while Nick Bosa remains sidelined.
The practice field at the San Francisco 49ers facility was noticeably thin on Thursday. with wide receiver Mike Evans sidelined just one day after participating in a limited capacity. Evans, who is managing a rib injury, remains on track to suit up for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. He played through the pain last week. securing five catches for 76 yards. a performance the team hopes he can replicate despite the lingering issue.
He wasn’t the only concern on the injury report. The team saw four players miss the session entirely: defensive end Nick Bosa. dealing with knee and calf issues; fullback Kyle Juszczyk. limited by a knee; and both safety Marques Sigle and defensive tackle James Thompson. who are sidelined with ankle injuries.
Bosa’s absence marks his third consecutive week out of action. and all signs point to him missing the upcoming matchup against Seattle. While the team remains cautious, there is a sense of optimism regarding his trajectory. Head coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned on KNBR that Bosa isn’t far from returning. expressing hope that he could see the field before the upcoming bye week. though he admitted it is still too early to make a definitive call.
There was a slight reprieve elsewhere on the roster. Cornerback Upton Stout returned to the field in a limited capacity after missing Wednesday’s practice with a shoulder injury. Meanwhile. defensive end Mykel Williams. who is working his way back from an ACL tear that cut his 2025 season short. practiced in a limited fashion. Williams is expected to be activated from the active/PUP list in time for Sunday’s kickoff.
“It’s been his second week back, so he had a good week last week—even better this week,” Shanahan noted of Williams’ progress, confirming he should be ready for action when the team faces the Seahawks.
