On Tuesday. the actress signed a certificate confirming she finished “Our Children First. ” the Los Angeles Superior Court’s online mediation orientation and parent education program.
Completion of this curriculum is a prerequisite for any parent embroiled in custody or visitation disputes within the local court system. For Berry, the step is a mandatory box to check as she and Olivier Martinez remain locked in a contentious legal battle over their son.
That conflict reached a flashpoint when Martinez accused Berry of physically harming Maceo. alleging she placed the boy in a headlock and choked him during a virtual reality game. Berry has pushed back against those claims. characterizing the physical contact as playful roughhousing and flatly denying any intent to cause harm. Describing herself as a victim and advocate for domestic violence survivors, she maintains she is not a perpetrator of abuse.
