Florida Driver Arrested for DUI Following State Road 417 Chain-Reaction Crashes

A motorist was taken into custody early Sunday morning following a series of chain-reaction collisions on northbound State Road 417 in Orange County, according to state law enforcement reports.
The incident began at approximately 12:30 a.m. near Mile Marker 30. Investigators stated that a blue Ford F-150 lost control on the wet pavement, crashing into a guardrail and touching off a sequence of subsequent crashes involving additional vehicles.
Responding law enforcement officers arrived at the scene around 1:15 a.m., where they encountered a chaotic situation involving the driver of the pickup truck—identified as Aden Martinez—and a man who stated he was Martinez’s father. According to the official report, the father was physically restraining Martinez, who was exhibiting signs of intoxication, shouting, and displaying aggressive behavior.

Troopers indicated that Martinez resisted initial attempts to place him into a patrol cruiser before being successfully handcuffed and secured. Orange County Fire Rescue personnel subsequently evaluated him at the scene for minor lacerations sustained during the altercation.
Following his arrest, Martinez was transported to the Orange County Breath Testing Center. Authorities reported that he provided two breath samples during testing, which registered blood alcohol levels of 0.205 and 0.201—more than twice the legal limit in Florida.
Beyond the initial sequence of collisions and the subsequent roadside altercation, authorities have not yet released additional specifics regarding the precise cause of the primary crash or the extent of damage to the other vehicles involved. The investigation relies on findings provided by the Florida Highway Patrol.
