Power restored to nearly all 133k customers after storms

power restored – CenterPoint says Tuesday overnight storms affected about 133,000 customers, but by Thursday morning only 16 customers were still without power, with crews continuing work across the Greater Houston area.
When the storm quieted, the lights came back—though not all at once.
In the early hours of the day, nearly 15,000 CenterPoint customers were without power. The outage count then dropped to roughly half shortly before 8 a.m., before rebounding above 11,600 just over an hour later, according to the company’s outage map.
Even with thousands of outages at their peak, about 96% of CenterPoint’s customers avoided storm-related impacts. Still, the storms affected around 133,000 customers overall, a CenterPoint news release said.
By 6 a.m. Thursday, the outage map showed only 16 customers without power.

CenterPoint’s vice president of distribution operations and overnight incident commander. said in a statement: “We know how disruptive outages can be for our customers. ” adding that the company’s priority remains restoring service “safely and as quickly as possible.” He said CenterPoint’s Emergency Operations Center would stay activated as crews continue working around the clock to respond to isolated outages across the Greater Houston area.
