A small-town horror-comedy can only go so far before it either bites too hard or gets silly on purpose. Widow’s Bay does neither. It delivers chills, then turns around and makes you laugh—especially whenever Kate O’Flynn’s Patricia is on screen.

In the Apple TV series, Matthew Rhys plays Mayor Tom Loftis, a relative outsider who starts to realize the legends of Widow’s Bay aren’t just stories. The show takes that Stephen King-style setup—tight community, creeping dread—and flips it into something lighter without losing the bite.
