Emergency response efforts involved a fire department crew arriving at the scene to extricate an elderly man who was confirmed dead, along with an injured woman. Both individuals were transferred by ambulance to the hospital in Hania. Three other people traveling in the second vehicle had already been transported from the scene by ambulances prior to the arrival of rescue units.
