Mitchell Robinson deletes apps amid mental health concerns

Mitchell Robinson shared a social media update indicating his mental health “is not the best right now,” saying he was deleting apps after an “unsettling experience.” The Knicks reserve big man also wrote that he has changed his number and is focused on the Ea
Mitchell Robinson didn’t wait for the Eastern Conference Finals to end before addressing what he’s been dealing with off the court.
After New York’s reserve big man posted updates on social media. he told fans he was deleting all apps following an “unsettling experience” he said he wouldn’t explain further. In the same message. Robinson wrote that his mental health “is not the best right now. ” adding that he was trying to get back on track while playing in the Eastern Conference finals.
“On the playoffs and myself I know some of you have called and texted and it popped up green thats because I got a new number my mental health is not the best right now but I am fighting to get back on track while playing on the biggest stage in the World the Eastern Conference finals thank you all for the love and support you bring it will never go unnoticed I truly appreciate yall. ” Robinson wrote.
On Thursday, Robinson shared a Facebook update with a similar tone. He said it would be his “Last post before I delete this app,” describing changes to his phone number and framing the move as part of a new chapter as he tries to push his focus deeper into the playoffs.
“Last post before I delete this app I finally have changed my number for many reason…as I fight through and keep fighting in this playoffs run my focus have to go to another level. This is the start of a new chapter in my life Love and will miss y’all…. Mitch out,” he wrote.
Robinson’s minutes have been valuable for the Knicks during their postseason push. He gives New York support off the bench. often stepping in to relieve Karl-Anthony Towns when Towns needs rest or is in foul trouble. In these playoffs, Robinson is averaging 5.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and shooting 74.2% from the field.
In the Knicks’ two wins over Cleveland, Robinson played 14 minutes and 12 minutes, respectively. He scored four points in each game and grabbed at least four rebounds in both outings.
Still, Robinson’s updates come as the Knicks appear close to the next milestone. New York has won nine consecutive games in the NBA Playoffs and currently holds a 2-0 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. With just two more wins needed to reach the NBA Finals, the spotlight has been firmly on execution and momentum.
Robinson is not the only Knick signaling that social media has not been part of his postseason routine. Jalen Brunson, the team’s leader in many of those big wins, said at a press conference that he wasn’t looking at social media during the postseason.
The Knicks have kept pushing forward. and Robinson is clearly determined to do the same on the biggest stage available to him this postseason. Yet his decision to change numbers and delete apps after saying he had an “unsettling experience” serves as a reminder that mental health doesn’t pause for playoff basketball.

Deleting apps is smart tbh.
So wait did he delete the apps or change his number? Kinda sounds like both. Hope he’s okay but man the “unsettling experience” is vague, like what are we supposed to think?
I saw this on my feed and thought it was like a tech thing 😂 like hacking or something. If he changed his number then why not just explain what happened? Also mental health stuff is real but delete your socials, okay, but still play ball.
Honestly the green notification thing? That’s weird like it means people were calling and texting and he got a new number, right? I don’t even know why apps being deleted is the headline unless someone was bothering him. I feel bad but also people act like the “biggest stage” fixes everything, like no… mental health doesn’t care about playoffs.
