UK executive producer and creative director Mike Spencer said during a session at the 2023 Edinburgh TV Festival, per Deadline, that the approach “has worked.” He added, “The parents haven’t been distressed by what they’ve seen because they just haven’t seen it.”
That same logic—limiting exposure while contestants are confined—now appears to be influencing the U.S. rollout as well.

As “Love Island USA” surged in popularity in 2024—driven in part by its cast of high-profile names—the program has increasingly emphasized safety and humanity, paired with reminders to viewers not to target islanders online.
