Liverpool say farewell to Salah and Robertson at Anfield

Welcome to our live coverage of Liverpool vs Brentford in the Premier League at Anfield. Kick-off is 4pm. It is set to be an emotional afternoon as modern-day Reds legends Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson say goodbye to the club after nine trophy-laden seasons. But while there will be plenty of chance to honour and celebrate the departing heroes, Liverpool still have a job to do on the final day of the campaign. The outgoing champions sit fifth and know at least a point will
secure their place in next season’s Champions League. But they will be coming up against a Brentford side, featuring a number of Reds old boys including Jordan Henderson , who need the points to seal in their own efforts to qualify for Europe for the first time. A big day, then, and Paul Gorst, Ian Doyle and Mark Jones are at Anfield to bring you all the build-up to kick-off, including team news at 2.45pm, followed by an in-game commentary stream and the best post-match
reaction and analysis.

So who’s starting at striker now, Salah gone already?
Salah and Robertson farewell is gonna be sad but like… if Liverpool lose do they still make Champions League? The article says “at least a point” and I don’t even know what that means lol.
I’m confused on the whole Europe thing. If Henderson is on Brentford aren’t they technically playing against Liverpool’s chances? Feels like some weird conspiracy where they already know the results or something.
This is bittersweet but also I swear Liverpool always needs “just a point.” I watched them once and it felt like they can’t finish games, so why is everyone acting like it’s locked. Also Jordan Henderson going back to Anfield like that should be emotional too, but then they’re talking about Salah like he’s the only one leaving??
