Hoover’s Adaptations Keep Rolling After Legal Settlement

confidential settlement – After Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni ended their legal battle tied to It Ends With Us, Colleen Hoover’s film run on and off streaming shows no pause—starting with Reminders of Him’s box-office performance and Regretting You’s continued prime-time momentum on
On May 4. the It Ends With Us storm shifted—Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal battle. sparked by their collaboration and Lively’s accusation of sexual harassment. ended through a confidential settlement. For fans still processing what that controversy meant, the timing landed hard. It also created space for the question that always follows a public rupture in Hollywood: what happens next?.
The answer, at least on screen, is that more Colleen Hoover stories keep moving.
It Ends With Us—already a massive global box-office hit—earned $350 million worldwide. Even with the flood of headlines that followed its release, two more Hoover adaptations have been released since then. Both have found audiences, though neither has matched the towering heights of It Ends With Us.
Reminders of Him, the latest installment, stars Maika Monroe and Tyriq Withers, and is directed by Vanessa Caswill. The film brought home $88 million against a production budget of $25 million. It did so while facing competition including Scream 7, Wuthering Heights, and the huge sci-fi hit Project Hail Mary.
Last year. the second Hoover feature adaptation. Regretting You. rode the financial success of It Ends With Us with a $90 million haul against a reported budget of $30 million. The reception was rougher with critics—Isabella Soares described it as “messy” in her Collider review—but audiences stayed more optimistic. The movie holds an 84% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
And the momentum didn’t stop when the theaters did. Seven months later, Regretting You is still impressing fans, and it has landed as the most-watched movie on Prime Video in the U.S., at the time of writing.
The next adaptation is already lined up. Verity, a shift toward psychological thrills for the Hoover lineup, is set to debut on the big screen on October 2, 2026. The film is led by Anne Hathaway. and it also features Dakota Johnson. Josh Hartnett. Ismael Cruz Cordóva. and Brady Wagner. Michael Showalter directs the movie; he previously worked with Hathaway on Prime Video’s The Idea of You. which became a big hit for the streamer.
For those who want something to stream right now, Regretting You is streaming now on Prime Video, while the next Hoover chapter waits in the calendar.

So they settled and everybody just… moved on? That feels gross, like money still runs the show.
I only saw the headline about the legal battle. Does that mean the movies are basically still allowed to keep going or is the studio in trouble too?
“Prime Video most-watched” don’t mean it’s good though lol. Reminders of Him and Regretting You both sound like the same drama template, just different names. Also why is Scream 7 even mentioned like that’s relevant?
I’m confused because I thought the whole point of the It Ends With Us controversy was it would stop productions. But they’re already lining up Verity for 2026 with Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson? I guess settlements mean nothing? People will watch anything I swear.
