Abdul Carter backs off Jaxson Dart Trump criticism

After calling out Giants rookie Jaxson Dart for introducing President Donald Trump at a campaign-style rally in Suffern, New York, linebacker Abdul Carter posted a quick reversal—saying he and Dart are “good” and urging fans to drop the story.

Abdul Carter went from posting a pointed shot at his New York Giants teammate to telling everyone to move on within a day.

It started Friday, May 22, when Jaxson Dart appeared at a campaign-style rally with Republican Rep. Mike Lawler in Suffern, New York. Dart walked on stage as “Eye of the Tiger” blared in the background. spoke briefly for about a minute. and then turned the microphone over to President Donald J. Trump. Dart told the crowd. “Big Blue nation. it’s a pleasure to be here. ” before leading them in the Giants’ “Go. Big Blue!” chant. He then said. “What an honor. what a privilege it is to be here and. without further ado. I’m grateful. I’m honored. I’m pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States of America. President Donald J. Trump.”.

In the hours after the rally, Carter posted what sounded like a direct challenge to Dart’s decision to bring Trump into the moment. On Saturday, May 23, Carter reposted Dart’s video from the event and wrote on X, “(T)hought this (expletive) was AI, what we doing man.”

By the next post—still on Saturday, May 23—Carter backtracked hard. He put a calmer frame on his relationship with Dart, saying the tension wasn’t real. “Me & JD6 are good!. We spoke earlier as Men. Yall can keep yall narratives,” Carter posted to his verified X account, identifying Dart by his initials and jersey number.

The shift left unanswered questions about what was said “earlier as Men,” and what, if anything, changed between Carter’s first reaction and his later message. Neither Dart nor the Giants has publicly addressed the matter in the 24 hours since the rally.

Trump, who has been openly supportive of new Giants coach John Harbaugh, was also complimentary of Dart. Trump said, “I want to thank Jaxson Dart,” adding, “This is going to be a future Hall of Famer in my book. Thank you, thank you Jaxson. Lot of talent.”

As for the locker room’s temperature, right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor said on his X account Saturday, “Locker Room is fine.”

The timeline now sits in sharp contrast: a public post questioning what Dart was doing with Trump followed quickly by Carter’s insistence that he and “JD6” are “good” and that fans should drop the narrative.

  1. So wait Carter thought it was “AI”?? Like the video was fake but then it’s real and now everyone’s “good.” Sounds like damage control.

  2. I’m confused, because Carter reposted it and then acted like nah it’s all cool. “Spoke earlier as men” like what does that even mean, did he get threatened or something? Also why is a politician at a Giants thing anyway…

  3. My guess is the Giants PR team told them to chill. Like first he’s calling out Dart, then he’s saying locker room fine and yall can keep yall narratives… ok. And Trump saying “future Hall of Famer” is kinda cringe to me, not gonna lie. Who cares about Suffern politics, focus on football.
