Call Her Daddy Host Alex Cooper Welcomes First Child With Husband Matt Kaplan

Podcast host and media entrepreneur Alex Cooper has welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with her husband, Matt Kaplan. Cooper, 32, the host of the popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” announced the birth through an Instagram post on Tuesday featuring a photograph of the newborn dressed in a fuzzy blue outfit accompanied by a simple blue caption of a blue heart. On Thursday, she followed up the announcement with a slideshow of photographs documenting her pregnancy, writing that it had been “the most transformative 9 months of my life.”
The couple, who announced they were expecting in May, has not yet revealed the baby’s name. Cooper and Kaplan, a 42-year-old Hollywood producer, were married in April 2024 and together co-founded the Unwell Network, which operates as a subsidiary of the media company Trending.
During her pregnancy, Cooper used her platform to speak openly about her health experiences, including a diagnosis of gestational diabetes that she revealed to her followers in a July Instagram post. She described the condition as occurring when placenta hormones cause insulin resistance, meaning the pancreas cannot produce enough insulin to maintain normal blood sugar levels. Cooper admitted that she initially struggled with self-blame after the diagnosis, describing the experience as very isolating while emphasizing that her primary focus remained on the health of her child. She noted the emotional toll that pregnancy can bring, stating that despite feeling deeply blessed by the many incredible aspects of her pregnancy, the overall experience involves navigating significant emotional hurdles. According to data from the American Diabetes Association, gestational diabetes affects up to 9% of all pregnancies.
While the exact due date of the infant was not publicly disclosed, the arrival marks a major personal milestone for the Unwell founder, drawing widespread attention and congratulatory messages from followers and fans across social media platforms.
